I thought that was already cooked everything and with everything, like grilled rats in Nepal or Napu spiders or larvae and insects in China, the latest coming from Japan and I hope that not be a trendy!

A Japanese chef of just 22 years, has cooked his penis, his testicles and scrotum and cooked to his guests for $ 250.

As he said on Twitter,he cooked with low heat and slow seasoned with Italian sauce, mushrooms and parsley.

The chef is defined as asexual, had surgery to remove his organs, then frozen and later he auctioned online. Upon seeing the excitement that was generated came up with the idea of cooking.

The event took place in a special room for parties, and the chef chose a piano background music to get cooking.
So at the side he had piled hundreds of people, but who did not came was the police. It must be that in Japan cannibalism is not a crime.

As you can see I have not uploaded any photos because I find it unpleasant. But for those who want to see what it looks a dish of penis here and here you can see it.

Whenever I read news like this, an idea comes to me. Who is crazier, who comes up with the idea or who just eating it?

Anyway, I hope this does not become a trend as a remedy to the crisis, as this guy from now will win much more money on TV that in a kitchen.

Have a great week!

// Summer arrives with the rooftop!

Although for the last week, the political scene by the Muslim lebanese revolt, the Lebanese continue their life.

And this is one of the most difficult to understand in this country ... while some are faced with weapons, others are still enjoying life. The problem is that being a small country at any time instability may be affected by both parties.

... Meanwhile, many Lebanese have fun on the premises that are in vogue: the attics!

For the past few years are the most sought rooftop.

Today it's Friday and these night clubs and restaurants located in the attics of the best buildings in Beirut are a great option to eat, have a drink and dance ... ultimately enjoy.

I was lucky enough to be invited last week, and as I liked. It has everything a nightclub gives you lifelong, but also with amazing views and a wonderful atmosphere. Being outdoors, have a unique sense of freedom.

Of course, if you are thinking about enjoying a night on the rooftop of Beirut, first reserve, as are maxed out and you risk not having table.

Today is the place chosen by all local and international personalities to enjoy. Even George Michael has chosen a rooftop to enjoy during his days in Beirut.

Here I leave a site that you have a list of all the rooftop of Beirut to choose the one you want!
And here's a website where you find everything that happens in Beirut at night.

Have a great weekend!

La nueva moda...los Push Up Cakes Pops!! // The new concept....the Push Up Cakes Pops

And besides the thousand things we've done since we started in Gastronomic Talent we are ready for the cooking workshops!

We have the place perfect. 2 rooms, the kitchen prepared to about 15 people where we will elaborate, investigate.. and a second room where we will set the best time tasting what each has prepared.

We doubt the first item, the product, we are thinking of something special for the inaguration.
We have several workshops in mind, but the first one we want to make it special. And of course, as chocolate is my downfall and not be missing in my life, I would give this tribute. It has so many possibilities! in sweet, salty ...

But then there is the foie. The king of kings in my kitchen. It is especially, exquisite and delicate ... perfect for inauguration.

Then there is the demand, and here in Lebanon is clear that what most called the attention of me, is the Spanish dishes ... bone that if we'll make a workshop of paella, indeed will be a success.

The idea is to make the workshops, not only for women (of course, they are the first in the list) but also for chefs, schools, singles, and surely any children  .... we supposed we don't let any nature, no? hahaha.

So, we'll be mulling over the issue, but with to much excitement and enthusiasm.
Soon you will be informed of all developments in the workshops.

Have a very good weekend!!

//Already issued the chapter that I participated in Top Chef

Espero que no tengan copy right !! jajaja. Aquí os las dejo.

It's Monday, and this is always hard ....
Although today I'm wishful  to show you the chapter in which I participate as a judge of Top Chef 2012 Middle East.

As you can see I can not post the whole chapter at once ..., it is divided into 5 parts, of which I'm in the 4th and 5th. If you want to see me click here and here.
And if you want to also download the other parts click here, here and here.

It was curious to see me, I felt like as if I was not me . My daughter made me realize that really I was in the chapter...because in the middle of chapter she said me, and I write you her exact words: "Daddy, Joe Barza is prettier than you" .... hahaha.

I have to tell you it was an honor to participate in the chapter. Which hight level of contestants!
Although there is a less beautiful thing in everything, and that is hard and a responsibility to know that your decisions and those of the other jurors will directly affect the illusion of a participant who must leave the reality show.

If you followed the blog, you probably know that my camera is a total disaster, so I had to pick the jury pictures. I hope you do not have copy right! hahaha.

Un gin tónic por favor!! // A gin tonic please!!

........................................................................................................................................................

It's Friday! I had a intense week, nonstop, up and down all day ... and with a warmth that is oppressive here in Beirut. So to start the weekend..do you want a Gin Tonic tonight?

Tonight he deserves it, because tonight is the chapter where I make the jury in Top Chef,  that's how I had never gone on TV, my way of celebrating will be preparing a special gin tonic, one for me and one for my wife.

Gin it has become fashionable drink ... I've always had a certain fondness, because I met my wife when she drank one of them.
By then, the bars or restaurants, do not ask you which gin do you prefer and even less that tonic you preferred!. Now you need a masters to choose well!

One of the last gin "premium" has been Botanic, to "Williams and Humbert" , and will not disappoint.

This gin is fresh, soft, full of nuances that give the fourteen botanical ingredients that compose it: Buddha Hand, tangerine, thyme, coriander, juniper, cinnamon, peppermint, chamomile anise, sweet orange, almond, cardamom and mango.
They harmonize with pure grain alcohol English, distilled in using traditional old copper stills.

We already tried the Ultra-Premium Gin Botanic in a gin tonic that I put a one part  of gin for three of tonic.
Just pour the gin into the glass (cold, very cold please) and the aromas reach on    the nose with lots of citrus overtones.
We are supporters that if the gin is good, it no need to add lime rind, or lemon or anything that does deceive the incredible flavor of the gin.

If you are of those who like to try different mixes to gin tonic, I leave the link to a page where the combinations are very interesting. Click here.

Now I just wait for the night, and I'll tell you sip by sip, as how I see me on TV ... hahaha!

It likes a bottle of perfume...right?

Beirut mola! // Beirut..cool!!

My city, Beirut, is unknown to most Westerners. And I understand it, because of course after 15 years of war and the recent conflicts the images shown are hard and difficult to forget.

But today is a modern city, it is said that is the most cosmopolitan in the Arab world (well ok ... in some area is a bit chaotic) but life is good!!

There are a number of amazing places to visit and with our amazing cuisine  and the fact that no civil crime makes that attracts many tourists, most of them Arabs, but within the Ministry of Tourism is making an effort to attract West tourism, the work is not easy, because our giant neighbors are in conflict.
So thanks to our friendly nature and our food (the best in the world .. hehe) is a feasible project and expected.

For this reason, I love to watch or read in a recognized newspaper as the New York Times devote a corner of my city.

If you want to read the article click here.

I leave you with some pictures of Beirut, and I hope  you feel encouraged to visit us.

Chef Paul Haddad

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How was your weekend?
.. Mine if the Barça had won would have been better!

And is that the disaster of the classic match I did not expect, was hard to see Barca losing at the Nou Camp. But now more than ever Força Barça!

On the other hand very happy, because on Friday I had a very good news.

And a few days ago I met with a group of major restoration of Beirut, and on Friday I got the confirmation! I'll start with them next month ....

I often find nice restaurants, with big investments behind but the food is not good.
Many of them do not reach expectations, to be achieved.

And I understand that it is difficult to coordinate with each other (when you have several restaurants), but with all new technologies is much less complex.
Today, although the food go out of central kitchens, should not be an impediment to find good quality products and good presentation in the table
This is exactly what they want to me.

By the way, Gastronomic Talent is growing and before long, I can ask for more ... (and if we won the Champions League match on Wednesday, would be amazing too!)

As I am busy I have to reduce more blog entries, so instead of making 3 a week, I will post only on Monday and another on Friday.
Of course the tuesday's recipe in facebook I will not touch, which I Know many of you do them.
( I'm glad many of you made the Meat Pie and was a succes!)

And is that blog I have much affection, I did not expect to have so many people around the world to follow me! Thanks!

Well, then I hope see you on Friday, and I hope with more good news!

Una noche redonda...danza y hamburguesas! // Great night...dance & hamburguers

Llamar a Kameel Mroueh.  ( Amadeus dance & Music school. T. +9613880630 )

Hamburguers & more.

Chef Paul Haddad
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last night we went on a spree. It was time.

A great dance teacher, who met recently, did the show with her students. If you plan to go to a dance academy no doubt! Calls  Kameel Mroueh. ( Amadeus Dance & Music school. T.  +9613880630)

Well, as my wife always sent me 1 hour before the start of the show, at 20.30 h ...Do you know that means? .... I was hungry! And the truth is that in the street from the theater, there was not much offer. So we went to a little restaurant-bar, where the name did not make it justice. Hamburguers & more.
And although they were all burgers, Wow which burger! But the grace of the site for me is that only have one size hamburger (mini) and you will prepare them to your liking.

The first thing to say that the meat was delicious!
They have many types of cheese, cheddar (typical but good), brie, blue, halloumi , and a very extensive etc...
Various types of vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers (regular here), although you can find mint, eggplant, zucchini, jalapenos, etc ...
Now my favorite section: the sauces
Mushroom vinaigrette sauce, barbecue sauce (but good), basil sauce with walnuts, homemade mayonnaise, salsa putanesca, yogurt sauce....

Finally, endless combinations to help you find your own and perfect hamburguer within a budget friendly environment.

What more could you want for a good night ?
